Apanui School Policies & Procedures
Our school works with SchoolDocs to provide a website for maintaining, updating, and reviewing our school policies. SchoolDocs updates policies in response to changes in legislation and Ministry guidelines, reviews/requests from schools, and regular research from the SchoolDocs team.
Our school board has the opportunity to view changes/additions and comment on them before they are implemented. We will advise you when policies are up for review and how you can take part in the review.
We invite you to visit the site at https://apanui.schooldocs.co.nz (note that there's no "www.").
Our username is "apanui" and password "akerunga".

School Specific Policies:
Home Learning
Home Learning is different to the term ‘Homework’. Home Learning recognises the positive impact of a strong and positive home and school partnership.
If a parent or caregiver wishes to receive support to provide Home Learning activities, the classroom teacher can provide access to readers and library books to encourage reading practice and enjoyment. Teachers can also provide practice activities for spelling, number facts, and simple activities that link to current classroom themes and learning.
Homework
Studies have found that Homework has a lower than average impact on student achievement with the impact diminishing as the amount of time pupils spend on it increases. Apanui School does not provide or enforce daily homework activities.
